A member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, the Education Club and men’s basketball team, junior Brad LeFevre encompasses all that Cazenovia College has to offer its students.   “I chose Cazenovia College because it seemed like a great fit in all aspects.  It is a small college with a great sense of community and provides me the opportunity to play the sport I love.”

Growing up, Brad described himself as an “active sports enthusiast,” participating and learning to compete in golf, soccer, baseball and basketball.  “My brother is three years older, so playing with him and his friends pushed me to be at my best and to find a way to be successful.”   Those early challenges propelled LeFevre to an outstanding high school career.  He was named Wayne County’s Basketball Player of the Year in both 2010 and 2011, won a Section V Class C soccer championship in 2010 and a Section V Class C basketball championship in 2011.  As a senior in 2011, LeFevre participated in the Rochester Ronald McDonald All-Star game and was a member of the Finger Lakes Times “Fab Five” All-Star team.

At a young age Brad he learned the life lessons necessary for success not only on the basketball court, but in the classroom as well.  As a freshman at Cazenovia, LeFevre was named to the 2011-2012 North Eastern Athletic Conference Scholar Athlete Award list for maintaining a 3.4 or higher GPA.  “My motivation comes from my role models,” said LeFevre.  “My parents have shaped and molded me into the hardworking, persevering person I am today.”  Currently majoring in Inclusive Elementary Education at Cazenovia College, LeFevre wishes to one day return to his hometown of Marion, NY as a full-time teacher.

Currently a member of the 2013-2014 Cazenovia College men’s basketball team, LeFevre has been a catalyst for the Wildcats success early on.  On December 3, 2013, he set a new career high for points in a Wildcats uniform with 28 against conference rival SUNYIT.  As if his point total weren’t impressive enough, LeFevre connected on the eventual game winning shot with 1.1 seconds remaining, propelling Cazenovia to an 86-84 victory.

“Besides scoring my first collegiate points as a freshman, hitting the game winning shot against SUNYIT is my most memorable moment in a Wildcats uniform” said LeFevre.  He continued by saying, “My team is a family; we all work together and put our differences aside for a greater common goal. I’m proud to be a part of that and proud to be a Cazenovia College Wildcat.”
