With graduation day looming for senior Kory Parsons, his unquestioned impact on Cazenovia College and its athletics program will long surpass his years on campus. Caz athletics Hall of Fame member and current director of intercollegiate athletics at Cazenovia College Michael Brooks ’01 said of Parsons, “His hard work, dedication and drive to succeed have set the benchmark for Wildcats student-athletes - past, present and future.”

Hailing from Holland Patent, New York, Parsons has become a household name around the Cazenovia College campus community.  His achievements and accolades as a student-athlete far surpass that of his peers.  His efforts in the classroom have also earned recognition, maintaining a cumulative 3.0 GPA during his three-year tenure at Cazenovia.  Parsons remains on pace to graduate this spring with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

As a student-athlete at Cazenovia, Parsons is a member of the men’s cross country, volleyball and swimming teams.  “I took advantage of my opportunities,” said Parsons.  “Cazenovia College athletics provided me the opportunity to pursue excellence on the track, in the pool and on the court.”

Parsons efforts in the pool have set the standard for future swimmers at Cazenovia College.  He currently holds school records in the 200, 500, 1000 and 1650 yard freestyle events, as well as the 200 yard individual medley.  He is also a part of all five relay records at Cazenovia College in the 200 Free, 400 Free, 800 Free, 200 Medley and the 400 Medley.  Parsons’ times in the 200 Free, 400 Free and 400 yard Medley relay also set the North Eastern Athletic Conference record (NEAC).

If his impressive list of record breaking achievements were not enough, Parsons is the College’s reining Male Athlete of the Year, an award bestowed to him in both his sophomore and junior years.  His dominance continued into his senior season, culminating with the NEAC conference’s highest honor, the 2013-2014 Male Swimmer of the Year.

Some of Parsons greatest memories include the time spent with his teammates, coaches and professors at Cazenovia. “I transferred to Cazenovia College as a sophomore because it felt like a community of people who would support me both in and out of the pool,” said Parsons.  “I will graduate knowing I made the best decision of my life.”
