The Cazenovia College women's basketball team could not hold onto their first half lead as they fell to Keuka College 76-67 on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats fall to 1-5 overall, 0-2 in the NEAC, while Keuka improves to 4-2, 1-0 in conference play.
The Wildcats started out strong in the first quarter as they would take a 16-13 lead. They would stay strong in the second quarter as they would hold on to their 3-point lead going into halftime up 26-23. In the second half the Wildcats would use their fast break attack to get themselves going, but it would not be enough as Keuke would pull a head and take the lead for good against Cazenovia.
Sophomore Danielle Caivana
would lead the Wildcats in scoring as she would score 19 points for Cazenovia. Senior Morgan DeLand
would record her 4th
double-double of the season as she pulled down 12 rebounds to go along with her 14 points.
Junior Amy Holland
would shoot 5-9 from the field for 13 points while fellow junior Alexis Tubbs pulled down 9 rebounds. Junior Sydney Smith
would come off the bench and finish the game with 6 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists for Cazenovia.
The Wildcats return to action on Wednesday December 5th
when they travel to Morrisville State.
